J.R. Ridge Talks Fight Predictions and His Own Return to the Ring at BKFC 66

Updated: Sep 14

At BKFC 66, held last night in Hollywood, Florida, Shyanna Bintliff of Knuckletown Official sat down with top-ranked BKFC flyweight contender J.R. Ridge for an exclusive interview. As Ridge's friend and training partner Ryan Reber prepared to challenge for the belt, Ridge offered an inside look at Reber’s mindset and his own fighting future.

Ridge, currently ranked #2 in the BKFC flyweight division, was brimming with confidence about Reber’s chances. "Ryan's in for a tough fight tonight," Ridge admitted.

However, he was quick to add that Reber had trained relentlessly for this opportunity. "I’ve sparred many rounds with him, and his mindset is different for this fight. I predict Ryan's either going to take it in a unanimous decision or catch Blaze with a flush shot to the jaw and end it in the third round. But it’s definitely going to be a war if it goes all five rounds."

Ridge highlighted that this title shot had been a long time coming for Reber, who remains undefeated at 6-0. "He’s been in line for this belt for a while now," Ridge noted, adding that despite a few missed opportunities, everything seemed to fall into place this time. "It’s meant to be for Ryan."

As the conversation shifted to Ridge’s own future in the ring, fans were eager to know when the #2 flyweight would return. Ridge hinted at an upcoming fight later this year. "Hopefully October or November," he revealed, though details were still in the works. The most exciting news, however, was BKFC’s announcement that the promotion is heading to the Philippines. For Ridge, who was born there, this is the perfect opportunity. "I’ve been campaigning to go back to the Philippines for over a year now. I want a rematch with John there."

As the night unfolded at BKFC 66, J.R. Ridge remained one of the most intriguing figures in the BKFC, with fans eagerly awaiting his return to the ring later this year and the possibility of an epic rematch in his home country.

Stay tuned for more updates from Knuckletown Official as we continue to bring exclusive interviews and fight breakdowns from the world of bare-knuckle fighting.
