After his fight at BKFC 66, Rayne Wells caught up with Knuckletown Official's Shyanna Blintiff to discuss the aftermath of a hard-fought match. Although the night didn’t go his way, Wells remained optimistic about his future in the sport, taking the loss in stride.
When asked how he was feeling after the bout, Wells responded, "I feel pretty good," despite the fight ending in a stoppage. He explained that there was some confusion when the referee asked if he had taken a poke to the eye. "I didn’t know because I couldn’t see out of my eyes," Wells said. His opponent managed to land several strong punches during the first exchange. Wells praised his opponent, who had impressively cut 90 pounds for the fight, calling him "a pretty nice guy" even though there was a language barrier.
Looking ahead, Wells is determined to return stronger. Surprisingly, he revealed that he’s been training out of a CrossFit gym, with no formal training in boxing or MMA. "I’m going to be looking to do that," Wells said, recognizing the need for a more specialized approach if he wants to improve his performance in future bare-knuckle fights. "If I’m gonna come back, I’ve got to come with some new tools."
Despite the loss, Shyanna encouraged Wells, noting that he looked good in the ring, especially for someone without formal boxing training. "You wouldn’t guess if you weren’t coming out of a boxing gym or not," she said, echoing the sentiment of fans eager to see Wells return to the ring better prepared and with more refined skills.
Wells' willingness to learn and improve proves that he’s far from finished, and fight fans are excited to see him back in action.
